What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Some are essential for the site to work. Others help me understand how people use the site. Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, or PECR), I must ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not essential.

Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies keep the site working and secure. They do not need your consent and you cannot switch them off through the cookie banner.

Analytics cookies
These cookies are only set if you click accept on the cookie banner. They help me see how many people visit, which pages they look at and how they found the site. Google Analytics is set up so that the information is aggregated and does not tell me who you are.

Marketing and tracking cookies
These cookies are only set if you click accept on the cookie banner. They help me measure whether my adverts and campaigns are working. If I add tools such as advertising pixels, I will list them here before they go live.
Third-party content
The site uses fonts from Google Fonts. These do not set cookies, but when your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address. Links to other sites, such as Amazon or Green Cat Books, take you to sites with their own cookie policies.
How to manage cookies
- Cookie banner: you can accept or reject optional cookies when you first visit, and change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link.
- Your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work properly.
- Google Analytics opt-out: you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
